Artist Statement

Photographs are the artifacts of our memories. A single frame can carry a lifetime of emotion. We see something so beautiful we wish to keep it forever, and art is just the same. While photographs only preserve reality, I can reshape that reality in my art, conjuring landscapes and ideas that have not yet found a place in the physical world. 

I have walked a parallel lifetime with art, exploring the many forms it has to offer. Unlocking what I could do with oil and acrylic paint was a vivid awakening that felt like discovering an entirely new world within a familiar home. I can now take my love for film-photography and transfer the nostalgic textures, rich contrasts, and quiet solace to a once blank surface. My mind was given a platform to display these ethereal dreams, ideas, and convey emotions trapped in layers of language. Words falter to carry the contradictions of life, while my art holds balance within the pendulum. Whether anchored in the shadows, reaching toward a distant light, or entangled within the warring truths of being, these paradoxes configured in my pieces can gracefully coexist and become inconspicuous to the surface observer.
